Voluntarism (Reaffirmed 2000)
The Junior League of Tyler, Inc. is committed to promoting voluntarism and collaborating with area organizations in order to strengthen our community and enhance the quality of life for all.
Plan of Action:
- To monitor and to educate the Junior League of Tyler, Inc. on issues which directly concern voluntarism and the effectiveness of the volunteer sector.
- To advocate for legislation beneficial to the continued effectiveness of the volunteer.
Enabling Statement:
The Public Affairs Committee, with the approval of the Board of Directors, may take action in the name of the Junior League of Tyler, Inc. to support issues outlined in this position statement and plan of action to promote the area of voluntarism and the effectiveness of the volunteer sector.
Education (Reaffirmed 2000)
The Junior League of Tyler, Inc. recognizes the importance of quality education for the well-being of every community, and to this end will support and strive to promote such education in our community.
Plan of Action:
To monitor legislation and to educate the Junior League of Tyler, Inc. on current developments affecting League projects and placements in the area of education.
Enabling Statement:
The Public Affairs Committee, with the approval of the Board of Directors, may take action in the name of the Junior League of Tyler, Inc., to support issues outlined in this position statement and plan of action to bring about positive changes in the area of education.
Children and Adolescents (Reaffirmed 2000)
The Junior League of Tyler, Inc. is committed to assuring that children and adolescents in our community have the opportunities, services and protection essential for their optimal physical, intellectual, emotional, mental and social growth.
Plan of Action:
- To monitor issues and legislation involving children and adolescents and to educate the Junior League of Tyler, Inc., on these issues.
- To advocate for legislation beneficial to children and adolescents. Enabling Statement: The Public Affairs Committee, with the approval of the Board of Directors, may take action in the name of the Junior League of Tyler, Inc., to support issues outlined in this position statement and plan of action and to promote services involving children and adolescents and their well-being.
Women (Reaffirmed 2000)
The Junior League of Tyler, Inc. is committed to assuring that women in our community have the opportunities, services, and protection essential for their optimal physical, intellectual, emotional, mental, social and economic growth.
Quality of Life (Adopted 1999; Reaffirmed 2000)
The Junior League of Tyler, Inc. is committed to improving the quality of life of the citizens in our community.
