Laura Bush reads book at ‘Goodnight Rose City’ launch

The Junior League of Tyler was thrilled to have Laura Bush read their new children’s book, Goodnight Rose City, at a luncheon on October 4, 2013. Over 550 guests attended the beautiful evetn that included Boy Scouts presenting the flags, the Robert e Lee Good Vibrations Choir singing the National Anthem and 20 guest students from across Smith County. In attendance were the local Teachers of the Year, local librarians, Mayor Barbara Bass who presented Mrs. Bush with a key to the city, many elected officials, community leaders and more. This was an exciting, grand start for the new book. The new publishing and printing of the first printing of the new book was generously paid for by Louis and Peaches Owen. The Cityscape inside cover sheets feature local “institutions” of Tyler who generously donated to the projects of the League.
