New League year in full swing

Happy Fall Ya’ll!

We have our first general meeting under our belt, the Provisionals had their retreat last month, and committees are gearing up full steam (if they haven’t already). October is an exciting time for the Junior League.

This year we are having one Girl Power event on October 22.  The committee has worked hard to plan a day full of speakers and activities that align with their four pillars: Self Value, Education, Civic Engagement and Future Planning. If you are interested in coming out and helping during the event, please contact Lexie Clark or Meagan Doran.

Our new slate will be announced at the October GM.  This is always an exciting time to see who our next leaders will be. The Nominating Committee always works so hard to fill each position. (If you are interested in a leadership position for the future, please fill out the Interest Indicator.)

And of course we are on the countdown to Reindeer & Roses. This year’s M&M committee has gone above and beyond to bring in new concepts: Restaurant Week, Partners Card, and Rudolph’s Favorite Things, all while reminding everyone to keep it local. This fundraiser helps us support so many worthwhile non-profit agencies in Smith County. I encourage you to buy and sell chance drawing tickets for Susan Robinson Jewelry, buy a partners card and get great discounts at local retailers, and invite your friends and family to attend the various parties or simply come out and just shop.

I love the League, and now that everything is in full motion, I truly am blessed to be a part of such an amazing organization with so many talented and serving women who are making this such a fun journey.

We Are JLT!
