Provisionals learn about league and community at annual retreat

The Junior League of Tyler, Inc.’s provisional class attended a day-long retreat Sept. 10 to learn more about the League and the organizations we serve. Here’s a rundown of what we did:

  • Visited four amazing organizations that are supported by JLT
  • Exposed provisionals to important needs of the community
  • Provided opportunities to help guide where they would like to serve through the JLT
  • Performed service project of stuffing bags for Backpacks for Kids program
    • 2185 meals were prepared in 15 minutes!
    • Everyone worked together as a team and MADE A DIFFERENCE!!
  • Opportunity for provisionals to make friends and establish relationships
  • Some provisionals have already asked to volunteer at these organizations this year ON TOP of their provisional requirements! Way to Go Girls!

Thank you to the provisionals who took time out of their busy schedules to be a part of this important introduction to the mission of the League. And thanks to the volunteers and organizations that opened their doors for our newest members!
